Recreational Adaptive Paddling Day

Pure Light Racing organizes outrigger canoe paddling sessions for individual adapted paddlers in the Honolulu area, free of charge. 
The paddling sessions are open to anyone with a physical disability, regardless of age, ethnicity, income level or religion. 

DOWNLOAD WAIVER
*A safety protocol is in place, requiring all participants to be able to 
independently access the canoe and swim unaided.

Upcoming Events & Races

  • Swimming Sessions held every other Monday at K. Mark Takai Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center. If you are
    interested in attending please send us a message.
  • Recreational Adaptive Paddling program is held on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

RAP Day FAQ's

Is there any cost for recreational paddling? 
There is no cost for our recreational paddling program. 

Do I need to be able to swim? 
Yes, we do have a safety protocol that you must be able to swim, tread water and access the canoe independently. 

What do I need to bring? 
Water to drink, a towel and sunscreen.  Adaptive seating and paddles are available with pre-arrangement through Pure Light Racing. 

What should I wear? 
Wear swim or beachwear, prepare to get wet and sandy. 

Do I need any prior experience? 
No paddling experience necessary, sometimes itʼs better that way, no bad habits.
